Tony Evans 65 years
Tony Evans is a materials phenomenon! After his Ph.D. studies devoted to dislocations in CaF2, he joined the technical staff at the UK's Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Harwell, working on Si3N4 ceramics (1968– 1971) with a one-year sabbatical interlude at UCLA. He then joined the National Bureau of Standards (NBS-now NIST) where he stayed from 1971 –1974, and then began a peripatetic odyssey: Rockwell International Science Center, 1974– 1978; U. C. Berkeley, 1978– 1985; U. C. Santa Barbara, 1985–1994; Harvard University, 1994– 1998; Princeton University, 1998 –2002; U. C. Santa Barbara, 2002-present.
